Ravello, Italy – June 21, 2025 – Tomorrow, Sunday, June 22, the “Oscar Niemeyer” Auditorium in Ravello will resonate with the sounds of choral music. It will host the third edition of the “Schola Cantorum” International Competition.

Promoted by the “Diabolus in Musica” musical association, presided over by Federico Mileo. With the patronage of the Municipality of Ravello, the event promises a day filled with diverse musical performances.

The competition serves as a tribute to the memory of Carmine Pagliuca, a prominent figure in the Italian choral music scene. The program kicks off at 11:30 AM. There will be performances by the Laudate Dominum choir, directed by Giovanni Pagliaroli, The Sweet Sound Gospel Choir, directed by Fiorella Iodice, and the Coro Vox Populi, directed by Paola Guarino. The competition will culminate with a performance by the winning choir, scheduled for 6:30 PM. The event will be inaugurated by greetings from the Mayor of Ravello, Paolo Vuilleumier.

Artistic direction is entrusted to Maestro Colomba Capriglione.
Special guests include the “Marlet Coro Mani Bianche,” renowned for its inclusive and original approach to choral singing. Adding further prestige to the day will be the presence of the Complesso Bandistico Aurora Città di Boville Ernica, directed by Maestro Franco Paluzzi. It will feature a performance by flutist Miriam Borelli.

The stage will also welcome some of the winners from the fifth edition of the CIMN Piano Competition. Among the highly anticipated performances are those by flutist Francesco Paolo D’Acunzo accompanied by pianist Antonella De Pasquale. Soprano Annapaola Troiano with Giancarlo Amorelli on piano, bass Antonio De Liso also with Amorelli, and saxophonist Giuseppe Mansi with pianist Pietro Sellitto are also performing.

A Day of Premieres and Celebrations
The same day will be enriched by another significant event: the first edition of the “Gennaro Napoli” Composition Competition. It takes place at 5:00 PM. The guest of honor will be Maestro Elsa Evangelista, a leading figure in the Italian music landscape.
All these events are part of the broader Festa della Musica, celebrated across Europe. However, it takes on a particularly solemn and inspired tone in Ravello. Admission to all events is free, making the day an open invitation for everyone to immerse themselves in the beauty and expressive power of music.

The festivities will conclude with the awards ceremonies for the three competitions: the choral, composition, and piano competitions. This will seal a full day dedicated to creativity, artistic exchange, and the valorization of talent. This initiative is made possible with the support of the Naples Section of the Unione Cattolica Artisti Italiani.
