Houthi Terrorists: “We Will Strike American Cargo Ships in the Red Sea”

The Houthi terrorists in Yemen, backed by Iran, have announced that they will target American cargo ships in the Red Sea in response to recent U.S. airstrikes. Their leader, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, declared in a televised speech: “Americans will now be subject to the embargo as long as they continue their aggression,” adding that Israeli ships were already in their sights.

This threat marks a further escalation of the conflict in the region and follows a series of attacks carried out by the Houthi terrorists against commercial and military ships, raising concerns about maritime security and global stability.

The United States and its allies are closely monitoring the situation and have vowed to respond firmly to any attacks on international maritime traffic.

Who Are the Houthi?

The Houthi, officially known as Ansar Allah, are an armed Yemeni organization of Zaidi Shia origin, supported by Iran. Originally founded in the 1990s as a religious movement, the group has evolved into a military organization responsible for attacks on civilians, governments, and maritime infrastructure.

After seizing control of the capital, Sanaa, in 2014, the Houthi terrorists ignited a civil war in Yemen, opposing the internationally recognized government. Their offensive prompted a Saudi-led coalition to intervene militarily in 2015.

Over the years, the Houthi terrorists have adopted guerrilla and terrorist tactics, launching drone and missile attacks against Saudi and Emirati cities, as well as threatening maritime security in the Red Sea. Their actions have destabilized the region, making them a serious threat to global security.

Despite diplomatic pressure and imposed sanctions, the group continues to receive support from Iran, which provides training, weapons, and technology for their attacks. The United States and other Western nations have officially designated them as a terrorist organization, emphasizing the threat they pose to global stability.

Their recent declaration of intent to attack American cargo ships in the Red Sea is seen as an attempt to escalate the conflict and pressure the international community. However, the United States has made it clear that it will not tolerate further aggression and will respond with force to protect freedom of navigation and regional security.
